Basketball Introduction to the Division of Positive Integers 1. The Basketball Court has underground Locker Rooms. When the Coaches are in the underground Locker Rooms the PLAYERS on the Court will be shared equally between the Coaches. The number of Coaches in the underground Locker Room indicates how many Groups will be created. Example: There are 4 PLAYERS on the Court and in the underground Locker Room there are 2 Coaches. The 2 Coaches will form 2 Groups and each Coach will have 2 PLAYERS each. = 2 Groups of PLAYERS with each Coach having 2 PLAYERS in their Group. Example: There are 9 PLAYERS on the Court and in the underground Locker Room there are 3 Coaches. The 3 Coaches will form 3 Groups and each Coach will have 3 PLAYERS each. = 3 Groups of PLAYERS with each Coach having 3 PLAYERS in their Group. When we do division problems we are always trying to determine how many PLAYERS are in each Coaches Group. When Coaches move TOWARD the Basket they are considered POSITIVE Integers. When Coaches move AWAY from the Basket they are considered NEGATIVE Integers. [QUESTION 41] 4/2 = 2 Question 1 of 5 2. [QUESTION 42] 6/2 = 3 Question 2 of 5 3.
