Soccer Introduction to the Division of Positive and Negative Integers 1. Division of POSITIVE and NEGATIVE integers has the same rules regarding what happens when POSITIVE SIGNS encounter NEGATIVE SIGNS as in Multiplication of POSITIVE and NEGATIVE integers. The only difference is in Division problems we are only trying to figure out HOW MANY SOCCER PLAYERS WE HAVE IN EACH GROUP. The parenthesis ( ) sign creates a force field around the number and a NEGATIVE SIGN inside a parenthesis creates a powerful NEGATIVE force field. This NEGATIVE force field is more powerful than a parenthesis around a POSITIVE number which creates a NEGATIVE force field. When a NEGATIVE force field is under or above a POSITIVE force field we divide the numbers, but the powerful NEGATIVE force field absorbs the POSITIVE force field. Example: - 6 / 2 = (- 3) because the powerful NEGATIVE force field absorbs the POSITIVE force field and they both are pulled into the NEGATIVE force field. Example: - 10 / 2 = (- 5) because the powerful NEGATIVE force field absorbs the POSITIVE force field and they both are pulled into the NEGATIVE force field. Example: 12 / - 3 = (- 4) because the powerful NEGATIVE force field absorbs the POSITIVE force field and they both are pulled into the NEGATIVE force field.
